Home | Podcast Episodes | Episode 022: Are You Thinking About Doing A Pouch Reset? Listen To This…

January 28, 2018 2 Comments

In this episode of the gastric health show, we discuss popular pouch resets and why they are flawed.

You can lose more weight without torturing yourself

When WLS patients feel like they need to “shrink” their pouch because of weight gain, stalls or reintroducing old habits. They typically seek out a pouch reset diet.

Although popular, do pouch resets truly shrink your pouch?

The diet program is tortuous with many such programs taking patients back to clear and full liquids for a day or two and then on to pureed and soft foods for another day or two.

The right foods send a message to your brain to shut down hunger & cravings

Unfortunately, pouch resets are focusing on the size of the pouch as your weight stall/regain problem. But, research tells us that even larger pouches have the same weight loss as smaller pouches(read more here)

Research also shows us, the real indicator of who will stall or worse yet regain weight. Are those patients who  consume poor quality foods(read more here).

Food manufacturers intentionally design packaged and processed food to be addictive

Food manufactures load packaged foods with addictive ingredients like sugars, sweeteners and starches to keep you buying their products.  If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you have to change your food choices.

Whole real foods send a message to your brain to shut down hunger and cravings allowing you to be satiated and satisfied.

Here’s what one of our members has to say….

I loved the recipes… easy and my husband loved them, as did I. I felt full and satisfied. I have not had a low blood sugar since following your 10 Day Back on Track Class Meal Plan and that was my goal.

Plus, the loss of 4 pounds was an added bonus. Looking back I realize I was not eating the right foods therefore I was having low blood sugars. I have a whole new way of thinking when it comes to eating thanks to the Gastric Health Club and to you Dawn! Thanks!!
