Why the FODMAP am I bloated?

Are FODMAP foods why you’re bloated?

Although bloating is rarely the topic of everyday discussions, it’s evidence something deeper is going on.

In previous podcasts we’ve discussed The link between histamine and bloating and BAM…bloated again!.  This episode connects how FODMAP foods can also increase bloating.

What are FODMAPs?

FODMAPs are naturally occurring sugars & fibers malabsorbed in the small intestines.  These starches ferment in the gut causing havoc.  Some common foods are: onion, garlic, apples, pears, wheat, beans, etc…  Tune in to learn more about these offending foods.

What are the symptoms?

FODMAP intolerance can easily be mistaken for other conditions, as they are typical digestive symptoms.  In this case they consist of bloating, gas, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation and cramping.

Who can have FODMAP intolerance?

Typically those suffering with FODMAP intolerance are individuals with IBS, IBD & SIBO.

If you’re struggling with bloating

Are you struggling with bloating?  I would consider working with a functional nutrition professional to get to the root cause and leave no stone unturned.

I’d love to work with you too!  Check out my packages and schedule a time to chat.
