What are FODMAPs?
FODMAPs are naturally occurring sugars & fibers malabsorbed in the small intestines. These starches ferment in the gut causing havoc. Some common foods are: onion, garlic, apples, pears, wheat, beans, etc… Tune in to learn more about these offending foods.
What are the symptoms?
FODMAP intolerance can easily be mistaken for other conditions, as they are typical digestive symptoms. In this case they consist of bloating, gas, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation and cramping.
Who can have FODMAP intolerance?
Typically those suffering with FODMAP intolerance are individuals with IBS, IBD & SIBO.
